The Twin Cities Puppet Oral History project began in June 2024 as a part of my Master's thesis research. The project explores the community of puppeteers in the Twin Cities, where it came from, and how and why it has endured so long and so successfully.
If you're just here to listen to the oral histories, you can skip to the links at the bottom of the page.

The primary deliverable for the project is a zine, the Field Guide to Puppets of the Twin Cities. Sourced from archival research in addition to the oral history interviews, it considers factors that led to the emergence of the local puppetry community as well as places that you can see puppetry here and now.
